Trump’s 73rd week brought updates to Iran, immigration and inflation. This comes as Trump suggested a peace deal between the two countries could be reached despite continued back-and-forth exchanges. At the same time, inflation rose to 4.2%—the highest level since 2023—raising implications as the trade war continues.
Trump later announced the leader of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua was killed in a U.S. strike, raising implications following previous reports from The Introspective detailing Trump designating the group as a foreign terrorist organization. Meanwhile, following an Introspective report detailing the House of Representatives passing a $70 billion funding bill for immigration enforcement, Trump signed the bill into law after it passed the Senate.
Iran and Inflation
As the war in Iran continues, Trump suggested a potential peace deal despite continued back-and-forth exchanges between the two countries.
“The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
“We look forward to working with Iran, and the entire Middle East, long into the future. Hopefully, this process will all work out quickly, easily, and smoothly. If it doesn’t, we have the ultimate alternative, hopefully never to be used again!”

However, Iranian officials have criticized the U.S. over its continued support for Israel after it launched an attack against the Hezbollah group in Lebanon.
“The Zionists’ incursion into Dahiyeh has once again shown that America either lacks the will to fulfill its commitments or the ability to do so,” Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf wrote in an X post.
“By giving the green light to the regime, you cannot gain concessions.”
Trump later announced Sunday night that a peace deal between the United States and Iran had been reached.
This comes as inflation rose to 4.2%—the highest level since 2023—raising implications as the trade war continues.
Tren de Aragua and Immigration
Trump announced that Tren de Aragua leader Héctor Rusthenford Guerrero Flores—also known as Niño Guerrero—was killed in a U.S. strike.
“At my direction, the United States Southern Command delivered a swift and lethal kinetic strike to successfully execute Niño Guerrero, the infamous leader of Tren de Aragua, one of the most bloodthirsty Terrorist Organizations on Planet Earth,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
“As a result, Tren de Aragua terrorists no longer have safe haven in Venezuela or anywhere else and, under my leadership, we will find these vicious murderers and drug lords anytime, anyplace, and send them to the depths of hell where they belong.”

In an X post, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the collaboration was with Venezuelan security forces.
“The operation underscores the shared U.S. and Venezuelan commitment to take the fight to narco-terrorists and deny them any safe haven in our hemisphere,” he wrote.
“We will continue to work closely with security partners, like Venezuela, and countries in the Americas Counter Cartel Coalition (A3C) to take the fight to our enemies.”
Meanwhile, following an Introspective report detailing the House of Representatives passing a $70 billion funding bill for immigration enforcement, Trump signed the bill into law, raising implications as anti-immigrant sentiment continues.
“This morning I’m thrilled to sign the Secure America Act to immediately and fully fund the Department of Homeland Security through the end of my term, so we won’t have that to be talking about anymore,” Trump said.
“We’ll give the heroes of ICE and Border Patrol—-and that’s what they are, they’re heroes, what they have to go through to keep us safe—the support and resources they need to defend our borders, protect our homeland and to keep America safe.”
This comes after the Senate passed the bill days earlier.
